Offline Translation
Local translation does not require a network connection after model setup. Model downloads and future model updates require internet access.
Voice Input
Voice input requires microphone and speech recognition permissions. Support depends on iOS, device, and selected language.
Text-to-Speech
Tap the speaker button to hear translated text again. Voice availability and quality depend on installed iOS voices for the target language.

Why do I need to download a model?
The model enables on-device translation. It is large because it contains the local AI translation capability needed for offline use.
Why are some languages text-only?
Translation support, speech playback, and speech recognition come from different capabilities. LocalLingo shows the best available combination for each language.
What should I do if translation feels slow?
Keep the recommended model selected, close memory-heavy apps, and avoid very long input blocks. The app is optimized to keep the UI responsive during model loading and inference.
